Rebecca Antista, M. Ed, Director of Social Emotional (Academic) Learning -SE(A)L 


Rebecca (she/her) has been with PowerTools for almost a decade, and is PowerTools’ Director of SE(A)L. Rebecca leads our SE(A)L contracts, partnering with schools to design, implement, support, and assess Advisory programs, integrate Restorative Practices, support positive school/climate and enrich other social emotional learning programs. As a certified DiSC facilitator, Rebecca facilitates coaching and professional learning sessions (in school and other settings).

Rebecca has long been an education advocate, content developer, educator and facilitator. She taught Social Studies to middle and high school students for 13 years as a NYC public school teacher during which time she was also an Advisory coach, professional development leader and teacher mentor. Rebecca won numerous awards from both administration and students including Teacher of the Year and the EBC High School for Public Service Essence Award. Rebecca’s focus is creating respectful and dynamic curriculum that inspires sophisticated thinking, excitement and community activism. Rebecca’s expertise includes Advisory, classroom management, curriculum development, effective leadership, effective teaching, effective teaming, facilitation, restorative practices, student-centered instruction, and youth development.
